Boost your energy in seconds with this simple exercise
Do you ever feel like your energy could be much higher than it is at some points in the day? Do you ever find your energy seems to suddenly slump through the day or even at certain times of the day? Well if you do, you are not on your own because millions of people suffer this same cycle each and everyday either at work or at home.
There are many reasons for an energy slump in a person, it could be due to poor diet, stress, illness, age, fitness levels and of course emotional depression, but for the purpose of this article we are going to look at the dramatic effects of poor quality breathing patterns.
During our day it is very easy to slip into a poor breathing pattern without even realising it and what is more important to note is how poor breathing can make even poorer breathing patterns simply due to the fact that the less oxygen we take in the less energy we have leading to a loss of energy which may cause the posture to slump and further restrict breathing.
Whatever the cause of a poor breathing cycle in the end it still leads to a lowering of the energy and must be addressed and in this article we shall go through one very powerful technique.
The greatest benefits were found when this exercise is done three times a day, once in the morning, once midday and once in the evening, but if you are unsure on your health or have any respiratort conditions please consult your medical GP.
The exercise goes on a rhythm of 1 – 3 – 2 and is as follows;
1. Sit comfortably with feet flat and hands on lap
2. Breathe in for the count of whatever feels comfortable until your lungs feel full
3. Then hold your breath for 3 x that which you inhaled for (if inhaled for 5 – hold for 15)
4. Then exhale at double the time you breathed in for (if inhaled for 5 – exhale for 10)
The exercise like anything will require practice and effort and the more it is practiced the more benefits will be gained, I use this with many of the people I coach and train and many find a big difference to their energy within 48 – 72 hours.
