Guy Finley – A true inspiration and teacher!
Everybody in life at some point will hopefully have has the great fortunate of feeling that deep sense of inspiration that has been triggered by another persons influence, this could be something as simple as a pat on the back from a good friend, to a life changing experience.
When I was a young scrawny 7st teenager my all time hero’s were the likes of Arnold shwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, not only for the way the looked, but for the achievements they had made in their life and the challenges they had overcome. Hearing stories of overcoming adversity give people the will to succeed where maybe only sadness or disheartenment lay before.
We have, and require different people for different types of inspiration, Anthony Robbins (although he does work on several levels) may best be known for getting people motivated, Mother Theresa could be best known for her kindness and giving nature and Stephen Hawkins for his genius mind.
However, i would like to share with you a hugely influential mentor, who has transformed the lives of thousands if not millions of people all over the world with his programmes and teachings and his name is Guy Finlay – a personal development author and teacher from America.
There are many coaches and trainers all over the world and many seem to regurgitate the same old same that the trainer before said such as “get motivated” and “reach your dreams” but every now and then a truly wise, honest and from the heart teacher comes along who seems almost effortless in their flow and touches our heart at a deep level and Mr Finlay is definitely one of these.
His work teaches us the futility of our dreams of relying on material possessions which in the end only lead us to desiring more and more leaving us feeling empty and in need once again. He also teaches us of where our anger, fear and sense of disconnection grow from and how to let go, as it is only by shedding light on our limiting fears and old beliefs that we can truly let them go.
Many aspects of society teaches us to desire more, to gain control and be the best we can be, but what if we get there and realise that all we need is even more? and what if when (and if) we finally get there realising we need more, could we start to fear about getting to this “place” at all.
Happiness is where we are right now, if that statement sounds incorrect I highly recommend listening to Mr Finlay and then see if it makes sense – it has most definitely transformed my life!
